What source is cited regarding 50 slaves killed and others captured on Sullivan's Island in 1775? I have studied Moultrie a lot and have not seen that anywhere else.

His second term as governor was 1792-1794. He retired from public office and was arrested for indebtedness in 1796.

On the site there is a reference to his skill not being able to save Savannah. He was never at Savannah. He and his men chased British soldiers from the area near Port Royal, and he stood up to Prevost in May 1779 when the British were at the gate of Charles Town. Prevost went back to Savannah.
