I have a 1980 Lesabre Coupe that orig had a 4.1 i have had a 350/350 trans chevy in it I ran 9.67 1/8 mi pass. It currently has a 307 olds in it, but I'm building a chevy 454 big block for it. You just have to change the frame mounts and do your research if you need a vehichle as a ref at the parts store use a 1976 to 1990 chevy caprice if emissions are'nt an issue some things wo'nt work like power steering lines pre 80 are flared,post are o ring just swap the pump fitting on rear of pump and return line at the gearbox the swap is easy, re route the fuel line or use 3/8 fuel hose to passenger side trans mount should still work. Headers for a small block for a 78 to 80 monte carlo work fine, a big block use 68 to 72 Chevelle.Find a V8 car in junckyard for a gas petal cable any 80's b body should do cadillac, pontiac bonniville, Oldsmobile Delta 88 etc..., the v6 one is shorter & will not reach unless u use a coat hanger to extend it temorarily, you'll probably need to modifiy the exhaust or just run new 2&1/2 in can work if needed must mod the crossmember to do so.
