We had learned this a long time ago in Sunday School

The cross of course symboliZes the belief in Jesus Christ through is death and ressurection and the water symbolizes the water of life given through the Holy Spirit. The Sun symbolizes Jesus being the Son of God and in the olden times there was a rock also which symbolized the Apostles as the rock or foundation of the New APostolic Faith.Remember the Woman clothed with the Sun?
