What is the best way to search for my grandfather who went missing in Karelia during 1941? The NKVD took him to a gulag in that region in late spring of 1940 and with a last letter carrying the stamp of Karelia, he has never been heard from again. My dad no longer imagines he's alive, but we'd like to know what happened to him. Any suggestions? Thanks.
