Nirankar in literal sense means "Formless"...The omni present and omni potent super power...which prevailed before us, which prevails now and which will prevail when we shall not be here...and it needs to be realized through the Lord Master.

Guru Nanak Dev ji first used this word nirankar for God.It is made up of two words nir (without) and akar (shape) means formless.Guru ji said that,"nao tera Nirankar hai nao layie narak na jayie".In mool mantar of sikh religion he gave defination of nirankar.
