What could cause a toddler about 2 years old to have a portion of his outer muscle of his intestines tore without having pain symptoms before surgery? Also what would need to be done to fix the tear? If anything? Could strain cause this on a toddler? Or could a fall down a set of 3 or 4 steps cause this? Is the only way for a toddler to have this problem be by a blunt hit or kick? Does it have to be child abuse? I am doing a paper in school, and I am also wanting to be a pediatric surgeon when I get old enough. Thank you.
