We have a female cardinal here is South-West Ontario that has no tail feathers. This little one is of the same colouring as a mature female northern cardinal adn about the same size but has no tail feathers that I can see. she has been in the yard for the past month and does not appear to have changed at all. at first i thought it was a baby cardinal but now I think it is just a special little cardinal.......... Is this unusual or what?
