Nictitating membrane

We found an injured quaker parrot on the road. Apparently it might of been hit by a car. The right side of the bird was bruised and swollen, but since it was injured (3 days ago) we have nursed it back to health. But, the right eye is still seemingly injured. It is all white. We have been applying an antibiotic ointment for it eyes recommended to us by a avian store clerk. I believe the white area on the bird is the nictitating membrane.

My question is, will the membrane go away, and will sight be restored in the Quaker's right eye?

Thank you.
