We are thinking of adopting a bloodhound puppy, but some have told us that they have a very bad odor and are oily so would not be a good indoor dog. Is this true

Tho I did pass out paper towels to everyone that entered my home, drool is a characteristic of these magnificent hounds, the bathing schedule was a bimonthly event. Oatmeal shampoos and cool water seem to be the key. Watch for ear infections as the droopy ears are a perfect environment for bacteria to grow, cleaned properly will not give problems. Make sure you do not expect a lazy animal. These creatures love a good romp. Much exercise be it walks or swims, your hound is a athletic being. Please make sure your home can withstand heavy feet and the ability to sling saliva up to the ceiling. Lovable and devoted, friendly and adventurous, the bloodhound is a wonderful companion.
