We are having a problem with the dpd system on a 200 model isuzu forward. So far we have replaced the completely clogged particulate filter, siezed flap, and tempeture sensors. We have also (under the advisement of another source) removed the exhaust cooler. After which the truck has been working fine for a few months now, but it has not solve our issue. Every few days the engine and dpd light are coming back on and going back in to "limp mode" and the vehicle will not go through the regeneration process completely of its own. This truck has had this issue since it was purchased and we can not figure out why. We are exploring the fact that it may have a problem with its ecu, but i'm looking for futher advice before we take that step.

I have that DPD problem with 4HL1 truck. I remove the cathelitic filter and gave external voltage to pressure sensor and temp sensors manualy. It works well for 2000 to 4000 km and again dpd came up. I used a microcontroller to set the voltage. Pl tel me If you know the facts how communicate with the ECU. Thanks,

Hi there, i also encountered this prob. Excessive white smoke was encountered but subside thereafter.. decide to do periodic maintenance and sent to dealer. there they told me that the exhaust valve was jam and cause the DPD filter to choke. DPD filter cost SGD$2200 and initialy they wanted to charge for the valve $500+ but managed to service it. Sigh.. this isuzu model is killing me especially their DPD system that emit white smoke now n then.

Ive got an frr35c3s ive encountered this problem.dpd light occasionaly flash and after every manual regeneration it comes back on again.to resolve that you have to scan the ecu and see which sensor is causing that.before changing and reprogramming, you have to clean the dpd filters and all pipes that is connected to.excessive carbon causes the pipes to block and prevent heat to pass thru to the sensors,so whenever the operation beging automatically the sensor for differential temperature will not read the proper temperature due to the bloking pipe.so first of all pressure clean the whole dpd box when ever you are servicing a new sensor.you can imagine the amount of carbon accumulation in the pipeto the sensors.try it.
