I saw on the nightly television news a report about northern Colorado needing water. The California aquaduct to send northern California water to southern California is 800 miles long. Sending water to western metropolitan areas from Lake Superior and Lake Michigan could be done. Reverse osmosis of sea water has been used in the Tampa Bay area, but fouling of the membranes may still be a problem. Off-peak electricity would be used to pump water from the Great Lakes to storage reservoirs along the way to just east of the Rocky mountains. Wind farms could use aquaduct right of way to get established. Electic power could cogenerate heat for distilling ethanol from corn fermentation, which would make it more competitive with Brazilian sugar cane ethanol fuel. Beneficiaries would include during drought Mississippi River and Missouri River water users. If reverse osmosis gets cheap enough, all of Texas, instead of just close to the ocean, would benefit.

Plans to use the Great Lakes to supply water to the western USA were discussed in Fusion magazine around 1980 by the Fusion Energy Foundation of Lyndon LaRouche. His group is a right wing lobbyist group that minimized the importance of solar power. Cogeneration of electricity and ethanol from corn, has plenty of real estate served by rail to fatten cattle and chickens up on the mash left after distillation. Wind power produced along canal right of way is also perfect.
In the Ultimate Fate of the Universe Forum, and the Time Travel Forum, I have discussed how elements 72 on up (hafnium wall nuclear reactor), are best described as nuclear molecules with helium-6 in valence. The Sun would complete proton-proton nuclear fusion by cold nuclear fusion to valence helium-6, followed by electron capture and later alpha particle decay. Valence helium-6 has to protons a larger cross section than carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen. 185185 is from the Philippines, and his benefit from discussing here is that the nuclear reactor with education, substitutes for gold and life energy levels.
