Was there ever a cattle ferry used to move cattle herds over the Red River to the northern territories? My father (age91) is telling us about a large ferry to cross a river coming from TX to SD that carried 500 head of cattle in 10 pens on the ferry. We are trying to determine if such a ferry existed. Thank you.
