There was a Tamerton Street in Camberwell. It was formerly called Cambridge Street. The name change took place about 1938.

It ran at right angles to Farmers Road and parallel to Wyndham Road. Tamerton Street and Warrior Road and another road whose name I cannot remember were demolished to allow the building of a school.

I do not remember the rag and bone yard but you may well be right.

I lived at No 20 Tamerton Street, there was a rag yard called Dentons. As kids we used to torment the workers by running in and out of there yard. The old totters used to go in and out all day, buy and sell along the street. Really happy days were had in that street. My family name is Raynsford.
