I am trying to find my great great grandmother's family tree and I'm running into road blocks. Her English name was Martha Elizabeth Hendricks. She lived at the time of her marriage in Natural Bridge VA. Her parents are listed as Dan. and M.A. Hendricks in the 1852 wedding anouncement in Rockbridge Co. VA. Her fathers name however was David. According to photos my grandmother had. I have not been able to find the name M. A. Hendricks on any other document other than Dawes Rolls which sends her with Dan. to western US. I also found a document that she did not show up in court there for lost rights to the land they were giving her out west.

The story in the family this great great grandmother was Cherokee. But to this point I can neither prove it or disprove it. There is no M.A. Hendricks ever listed on any census records that I have found and I've been searching for 20 yrs.

Can anyone point me in a direction that may give me some answers?
