In our drinking water company we use turbidimeters GLI Accu4 for some 10 years now and we are extremely satisfied with the accuracy and reliability of these instruments.
Unfortunately since GLI has now been taken over by the Hach company, and we have received a message that the GLI Accu4 will be no longer available in Europe and it will be replaced by the Dr. Lange Ultraturb. According to the Hach Company the production of the GLI Accu4 has been stopped because some of the electronic components are no longer available.
I'm rather suspicious about this explanation : I think Hach only wants to push the GLI Accu4 out of the market in favor of the Dr. Lange Ultraturb.
I replied to Hach-Lange (the Belgian company) that the GLI Accu4 is still available in the US, because it's still presented on the Hach USA website. But on a meeting the Hach sales representative assured me that the GLI Accu4 will also disappear from the US market within 3 months.
I would like to know the truth about this, and present these statements to the people of GLI, but there is no longer a direct contact with the GLI factory.
If there is any possiblilty for us to continue with the GLI Accu4, we largely prefer this instrument. Anybody who has some information about the turbid situation of the GLI Accu4, please send a reaction or contact me on my personal email address : willy.frijters@pidpa.be
Many thanks,
Willy (Belgium, Europe)
