Totally new to SSD tech;

I use Sony Playstation3 for gaming.
PS3 has 160GB HDD,
PS3 driving game (Need for Speed, Shift2), using a wheel.

While racing with the wheel, I turn left and right, but there's a huge latency exclusive to the game (not with the other racing games), so, I can't drive smooth If I buy an SSD, I know the data flow will be dramatically fast, but will the latency reduce, too?
