To whom it may concern I am doing research on my late grandfather whom served the sa navy during 1900 to 1948 His Name was Sydney Davids I cannot find him in the UK archives neither in the south african archives I want to know were they in the Royal Navy during that time and served the British under SA Navy?How do I go about searching for his history.His sister told me that he died on duty by falling through a hole .When his mother recieved a letter from the SA Navy She was told that she is Coulerd and he is white.She turned around from Simons Town HQ and left & mourned in silence and told the family I am his only granddaughter.The Navy is still upto date sitting with his belongings.I so want to see the letters he wrote maybe things that was ment for the family.kindly respond to my question what & where do I go to research for him that I may find closure I do a autobiography.Thanks Kind regards Connie
