There are lots of these medals in existence, both genuine and repro. If it doesn't have the word "copy" stamped on it, how can I tell the genuines from the copies? Some say they are silver, not a nickel/alloy plate...

There are lots of these medals in existence, both genuine and repro. If it doesn't have the word "copy" stamped on it, how can I tell the genuines from the copies? Some say they are silver, not a nickel/alloy plate whilst others say swivel suspender bars yet some are fixed?
Advice greatly appreciated.
