The agency where I WORK HAS 7 m 14 RIFLES FOR CEREMONIAL USE ,ONE HAS A SELECTOR SWITCH WHILE THE REST HAVE A ROUND KNOB . THE WORKING PARTS ARE THE SAME ON ALL. HAVE HEARD THAT THE MARINE CORPS ISSUED A " SQUAD LEADERS TOOL" to activate the full auto function on their rifles . Is this true and if so how does one come about this tool

NOT true...
If the weapon has the "round" knob -- then it is for SEMI ONLY -- UNLESS - the whole round piece is removed - and a SELECT FIRE assembly is installed. There is NO SQUAD LEADERS TOOL....that is BS.... The "tool" is a simple "punch" to remove the roll pin... Do not do this though... Not a good idea to mess with a M14 - unless it is a registered piece--and you have the papers.. Once modified to FULL - our crapola govt wants to nail you to the cross.... Word to the wise..... top
