For years, African Americans had to shatter the stereotypes projected upon them. It wasn't until the rise of the Black Movement also known as the Harlem Renaissance, filled with educated and talented Black achievers, did the Negro begin to fully liberate himself from society's standards. Two of those intellectuals were Langston Hughes and Alain Locke. You can read more at
