I grew up in Champlin MN which is just up the Mississippi River from Minneapolis. The neighborhood I lived in was just a few hundred feet from the river. There was a stretch of woods that had a trail that led from my house to a friend of mines and I would always walk it to get over there. There was a headstone that lay in the ground with a dogs name on it. We were always told that it was Dillinger's dog and he used to have a small shack that he would hide out in after running up the river doin what ever he was doing.

Has anyone know or heard of Dillinger using a small cabin north of Minneapolis just off the river? I'm 38 years old and I've always wondered if this was true or just someone making up a story (although a good one). I can't remember the name of the dog and unfortunately that entire area is now homes so the grave is gone.
