Hello, I am a fun of Sweden, and interested in maps and administrative divisions. I have read that Swedish government consider reduction of administrative counties to 6 or 9. I think it is too small number. And I have a concrete suggestion: 16 new, fully functional, equivalent and logical counties. The capitals/seats would be:
1st Luleå, 2nd Umeå, 3rd Sundsvall, 4th Gävle, 5th Uppsala, 6th Västerås, 7th Örebro 8th Stockholm (only city and its suburbs as a county), 9th Södertälje, 10th Linköping, 11th Jönköping, 12th Borås, 13th Göteborg, 14-Helsingborg, 15-Malmö, 16-Växjö.
All these capitals/seats are big regional centres with large territories and especially with enough (and as possible equivalent) amount of inhabitants in their administrative span.
I have also a suggestions of exact border lines, so that to keep the best compromise between these rules: 1)Territories attached to the closest county capital/seat. 2) territories attached to the county with historical, cultural, economic and traffic heritage and function. 3) The final borders should be compact and clear....
