Hi!

My name is IzzyP - nickname & start of last name!!!

I've always been kinda interested in Vamps, more so now at my age!! & I've started reagind Vamp Academy - seriously AWESOME!!! :D :D

Anyhow what's your views on Strigoi + Moroi. What are their differences? Why are they the same then? And....were they real???

My mum told me there was a disease in medievil-ish blood disease named ~Hemophilia~. Which means that the occupant of this danderous disease (which was not named a "disease" in those days) had to stay out of the sun, & take blood like a Vamp. Because their skin is sooo delicate the sun could damage it in a way which you can never imagine - a skin even the best sun cream can never fix. As for blood they were pushed to because they believed it would be good for them, I guess that was a (blood-)loss for the feeders! I don't remember that much I'll look it up!!

I think she meant porphyria. Its symptoms include extreme sensitivity to sunlight, receding gums (making teeth look longer and fang-like), bloody guns and lips, bloody urine, skin eruptions, and seizures. It is understandable why people in medieval time confused porphyria with vampirism.

Note: Porphyia exists today and, like hemophilia, can be treated, but not cured. Many of today's phorphyria sufferers are under the delusion that they are vampires.
