Some errors in the comparison article

An interesting brief comparison. However, there are a few factual errors in the text:

1. The Norwegians did not over-winter on board the Fram, as claimed, and it was never the intention to do so. They constructed a hut at "Hvalbukta" (Bay of Wales), which they named "Framheim" (Home of the Fram), together with an elaborate system of workshops and storage rooms carved out of the ice surrounding the hut. Fram left Antarctica shortly after depositing the land-party and didn't return until the following autumn, after a harrowing ocean survey cruise around the Souther Ocean.

2. Scott took three motorized sledges to Antarctica, not two. The largest of which was lost during the unloading of the Terra Nova, but the other two smaller ones were used to transport supplies over the first part of the outward journey, although they both broke down irreparably much earlier than anticipated.

3. The last of the ponies were killed at "Shambles Camp" at the foot Beardmore Glacier, not at the top of the Glacier as stated. It was never intended to take the ponies up the Beardmore as the terrain was deemed to be impractical for ponies, which causes one to question once again the wisdom of choosing ponies in the first place.

4. The contention that food supply was not a problem when Scott decided to take the fifth man to the pole is also dubious. Scott had already expressed his concern in his diary at the rate of food consumption before they left the Barrier, having been held up for several days by blizzards. He was worried that they had already started to consume rations which were earmarked for the later stages of the journey.
