I'm not sure if anyone else cares much about this but a lot about the Mega Man X series bothers me.
With this game in particular, it certainly throws me off a good bit in terms of what Sigma knows about Zero and his origins.
Obviously Sigma has some low down on him now, I understand, and I agree that Serges might possibly have some deep connection to Dr. Wily, so that's probably how Sigma got his dirt. But that creates the issue that I have.
In X5, Sigma babbles on and on about this "old man" he met who's like Zero's father and hates X's guts, so I think we know who he's talking about, but this doesn't make sense if Zero was already aware of Wily's existence and his connection to Zero.
In fact, in X5, Sigma has no clue who this old man is, and probes Zero for answer's should the player face Sigma with Zero.
In this game, Sigma explicitly states that Zero is "one of the doctor's last creations," so he knows who he's talking about for sure.
Maybe his brain gets fried by the time it's X5 and he forgets. I don't know. Anyone else have an opinion on this?
