I don't see why priests shouldn't be allowed to marry. I was always told that it was because Jesus never married, but lately I've been hearing all this evidence that he did, in fact, have a wife or a partner.

In the Early Church and through much of the Middle Ages priests had wives or kept secret wives; many priests claimed that their secret wives were their sisters and their secret children were their nieces and nephews.
