Does anyone feel that secular society would benefit from an organisation like the Church that doesn't believe in God?

Benefits -

A Moral Authority - I think the idea that people can decide for themselves what is right and wrong is ridiculous. Most people aren't clever enough, don't have access to enough of the facts, and don't put any proper time

Community bonding

Security - It brings people together with other people they can trust as they are striving for the same thing

It can be a sincere organisation, as opposed to the political agendas that public services are affected by

It can promote decent culture

It can give people moral guidenace and support - something desperately lacking in secular societys

It can remind people what is moral and what isn't

Negatives -

What it preaches could be wrong

It infringes on peoples freedoms

It doesn't respect peoples ability to choose for themselves
