Scammers posing as marines in AFG

I am concerned that scammers from Nigeria have a new slant---that of posing as Marines, being based in Afghanistan. I am fortunate, that having been in aviation and actually lived in Kabul until the Russians arrived, I was able to detect "the rat". As far as I know "Kevin Conor" with email of captain.capt02@yahoo.com is unaware of my knowledge--call it feminine intuition (smile).I know of him as a scambug, having checked and tracked his address (thank you google). His "boss" Robert Wilson, colonelcolonel@yahoo.com is of the same ilk. Whatever political thoughts we may have on our troops being in Afghanistan, both UK and US; I feel we owe our allegiance to all of them doing an extremely difficult job under awful conditions. I'm unsure as to where to post this and of course to alert everyone of this scam, so I have signed into this site on an advisory/informational capacity.

kind regards, barbarakathryn

You can usually tell these kinds of scams because the grammar is terrible. In any case, you should never give our your information through email or even open an email from someone you don't know.

Yes---their grammar is diabolical, initially my own intuition was that English was not their first language; though can deduce much from either email or chat. My only concern is that these "scammers" are purporting to be from within the US military and have now opened up a new portal; perhaps having exhausted the usual routes of communication through construction workers/archaeologist etc.. I have posted details on the www.romancescam.com website and only today have been able to correlate two together--Kevin Conor (of whom I chatted with again this evening--not wishing to alert him as I know through tracking (thank you google)that he and Bradley Strickland use the same computer number in Nigeria) Nothing like a scam to concentrate the mind and get ones "detective hat" on eh? There are some good people around on these various websites--yet sadly there are those who wish to extract money from--not from me as my finances are firmly welded to me (LOL). What smacks the most is that our chaps both UK and US troops are doing a very difficult job out there in (AFG) under awful conditions of which "Joe public" will never know or fully understand and yet these scambags prey on individuals whom they think will send them money and many do; for whatever reasons only they themselves will know. I find it quite repulsive that they are preying on people.

So in conclusion, I'm unsure as to how to expose these scambags apart from me posting my thoughts on this "Marine" website. Any further thoughts from you would be greatly appreciated.

many thanks BarbaraKathryn
