Saturday night I heard some interesting things about Katrina and what to check the truth of them please.

1. that in the Superdome people were wading in blood and that when CNN reported it, CNN was shut down for 1/2 a day?


2. There are reports that people in the lower part of New Orleans heard shots or explosions at the levy leading to rumors that the government purposely blew up the levies to get people out of those areas. True? or false?

(I understand that rushing water makes a huge amount of noise, or could it have been things like vehicles and houses exploding due to gas ruptures?)
