Now that i live in Italy i am free to say that i discovered some strange remains in the area of "HOOKS WAY PUB",on the road from Lavant to Harting, i used to work on a farm which had land in the valley between the White Horse and Hooks Way.
when ploughing the long field in the bottom of the valley i found some corner stones of a building, very large worked stones,which i placed at the side of the field,(footpath side)
allso present were a large number of very old thick tiles.
this all happened 35 years ago!!!! and at that time had to stay quite,
i hope someone will take a look and let me know what i found.
probably nothing,but who knows.
