Hi guys! I need your help. I am currently conducting a thesis about road accidents and my study area is commonwealth ave. Commonwealth Avenue has been labeled as the deadliest road in Metro Manila and maybe in the Philippines. And I have been reflecting on the possible reasons for this.

My sister who drives thinks that it's because of the laxity of traffic and safety enforcement by the police officers. Drivers mostly are overspeeding in Commonwealth Avenue. Most of the conditions of the road environment in Commonwealth Avenue encourages overspeeding of drivers. I have read an article saying that it is the widest road in Metro Manila. Also, it is relatively straight compared to C5 which is comprised of different roads (Mindanao Avenue, Katipunan). Plus most of the time, it is not heavily congested, which makes driving at high speeds possible as compared to EDSA or Espa
