Problm with my 1600 motor had no distrbutor.drive iinstalled drive 009 dirtibutor new plugs points cap rotor wirers set static timing motor will run only on cylinder no.1&2 3&4 are dead checked and rechecked timing seams ok

Check the valve seats on all the cylinder heads, It sounds like a set of burned out exhaust valves, Volkswagon early model air cooled engines were notorious for burning out exhaust valves.If that is the problem replace the intake and exhaust valves with new ones, and have the valve seats re-surfaced. Also check the valve spring tension to make sure they are not weak as well.
