Please tell me how to tell the difference between Chinese and Japanese star anise. I have a tree that is very tall and very wide. It is covered in fruit every year and I use them to put in pot pourie. I would love to cook with it but have no idea if it is edible. I have done research on this but only that it is hard to tell the difference between the two. Any help you can give me would greatly appreciated
