I remember taking paregoric as a child, i was born in 1961. my mother gave it to me with warm water and sugar. they gave it to use to calm sick bellies!! as i grew there was always a bottle in the fridge. i remember going and rubbing it on my gums because i loved the taste. i am a medical profesional, and i consider myself a functioning alcaholic. i have been drinking since 14. as i look at my life i cannot imageine why, my life is perfect. as i look back and investigate the drug i was so freely given as i child i now greatly wonder!! was i addictedas a 2 year old?? noone in my family has this problem, my sister was born 9 years after me, she was not given the drug! they stopped using it. i would appreciate it if anyone would help me investigate this!! thank you , lyndi radiatme@aol.com
