now TV secures exclusive broadcast rights for Rugby World Cup 2011
All 48 matches in HD giving rugby fans unbeatable viewing experience and choice
HONG KONG, June 10, 2011 – now TV is strengthening its comprehensive rugby coverage with the acquisition of the exclusive Hong Kong broadcast rights to the Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand.

Rugby World Cup is the biggest stage for top rugby union nations to fight for the greatest glory in the sport. This year's event will be the 7th Rugby World Cup and will be held across 11 different cities in New Zealand from September 9 to October 23, with the first match between the host country and Tonga. The other 18 participating nations include defending champion South Africa, rugby powerhouses Australia, England, France, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and other nations including Argentina, Canada, Fiji, Georgia, Italy, Japan, Namibia, Romania, Russia, Samoa and the USA.

now TV will live broadcast all 48 matches in high definition, including 40 pool matches, 4 quarter-finals, 2 semi-finals, the Bronze Final and the Final. In addition to the live matches, a wide range of support programming is available, including daily and weekly highlights, tournament review highlights, and pre-tournament programs. Rugby viewers can also enjoy the convenience of watching their favorite matches via the now Select on-demand service as well as other platforms of PCCW's unique quadruple-play service including Internet, fixed-line and mobile.
