My military records at the National Personnel Records Center were 'lost' about 10 years ago. Trying to have my parachute and glider wings entered onto to my DD Form 215.
The Army review board refuses to give me credit for the wings without my military records. I even sent them a copy of my original certificate of airborne school completion.
My current DD Form lists all awards except parachute and glider wings. I had a combat jump with the 187th Airborne
Regimental Combat Team at Munsan-ni, Korea on 23 March 1951.
Don't know how I can even prove that. Like to locate records pertaining to individual completition of the airborne school at Fort Benning, Ga. in March 1948.
I might mention in December 2008 all retired pay was stopped as 'someone' unofficially listed me as dead.
I found out I had been 'unofficially' listed as dead since May 2000, but no one bothered to write me and ask if I was dead or alive. My reward for 22 years of military service.
Any help appreciated. john414r@hotmail.com
