My son was recently diagnosed woth Pulmonary contusion. It is a strange case because the cavaty that has formed is the length of his spine. He is a hockey player and it is believed that the contusion was caused from a check. The doctor has told us that he can return to playing in 1 month our concern is can this be prevented in the future and if so how. I have not been able to find any information about cronic contusions and the complications. Any advice or info would be great. Just a note he is 18 and is adiment about continuing to play.
