My question about Hoffman Island refers to its service during the Second World War. I really have two but will list them in separate messages. I have been told there was a battery of 90 mm guns here as part of the Harbor Defenses of New York. Can anyone confirm this? Also how many guns? Sometimes a battery of these guns would be four guns fixed in an AMTB mount. Other times, there would be two fixed and two towed. Other times, there were four towed.
