I have tried getting these records and they are impossible to get hold of I am afraid. Try contacting the Tuscaloosa Alabama Library and ask the librarian for any newspaper articles during the time that your grandmother was their. My great grandfathers half sister was at Bryce Mental hsopital in Tuscaloosa, AL. between 1900 and 1910. I can't find any records on her either except for a 1910 Census record on ancestry.com and it does not tell much. Sory I could not help you very much.
