My father in law Able Seaman T.N HILL was a crew member on a Fairmile which departed Singapore along with another Fairmile during WW2. The lead Fairmile was subsequently sunk by the Japanese in the Java Straits with tthe loss of many lives and about 8 survivors of which included my father in law. He subsequently was captured by the Japanese and spent the rest of the war at Camp 5 Moulmein Burma. Is there anyone who has any information about those two Fairmiles and the action that took place in the Java Straits that lead to the sinking of the lead Fairmile. The second Fairmile carried senior Naval officers and escaped unharmed by the Japanese.
