My daughter's 1st grade teacher (on all other counts a wonderful teacher) has told the class that armadillos do NOT have stomachs. She came home with this gem to which I quickly replied "of course they do, they are mammals" and she insisted since her teacher told them and there was a book it MUST BE TRUE. I cannot find anywhere where the teacher could get this info. My daughter went back to school today and asked again "do armadillos have stomachs? and the teacher replied "no" and my daughter asked "how do they digest their food? because it is known that they like to eat insects, eggs and some smaller creatures" and the teacher replied "well, I don't know - I guess it just goes in and goes out" come on - somebody please help me?
