Please, does anyone have a soulution for mildew oder in a quilt other than washing it? Everything I've searched requires washing. I did try airing it outside for several hours but the oder remains. This is a new quilt just off the LAM. Quilts take on a new texture after they are washed due to shrinkage of the batting even though I like that look, some people don,t. The person receiving this quilt is of the latter. Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Maybe if you wash it but do not put it in a dryer. Hang it out to dry instead and do not wash with hot water. Then you can also have it steamed after it is dried if it gets wrinkled.
