I'm new to excel and powerpoint. I have some knowledge of micro-soft word. From what I've been told so far that powerpoint allows you to insert pictures with your writings which could be real useful in making presentations.

I think they all have their place and importance in our academic career.
Power point allows you to play with pictures, which makes it relevant for a great presentation.
Word is exactly what the name says 'word'. You can do so much with word, from writing up essays and term papers to spell checking, merging, formatting, the list is almost endless.
Excel on the other hand, deals with formulas, numbers, calculations and things like that. It is a really great package for analyzing data and turning raw data into useful information.

I have use microsoft word, excel and powerpoint, for different projects. I still get lost, and make mistake when I click the wrong task. Thank goodness for the undo button on microsoft. I'm able to keep my previous work,at my job, homework assignments and data. I feel good when I finally get something right on my own. I still have problems with the layout of my document. With practice, I hope to conquer this problem.
