Are Maa Kamakhya and Kamakshi of Kanchipuram the same devi? Some texts identify them as the same but their appearances are not alike.Maa Kamakhya of Kamarup has 6 faces with 12 arms but Kamakshi devi of Kanchipuram has 1 face with 4 arms.I find that some authors are confused between the two.They use the name Kamakhya on one line but Kamakshi on the next.Maa Kamakyha is located on the hill in Guwahati in Assam while Kamakshi devi resides over the city of Kanchi in Tamilnadu,South India which quite far apart from each other.Different appearances,different names,different locations but maybe they share some relations to each other?
