Long throating/freeboring is fairly controversial,e.g., one school of thought maintaining that no velocity gains can be made as a result of freeboring, while another school of thought maintaining that freeboring can help to increase velocity once bullet weight reaches the point where bullets have to be seated so deeply that case capacity is diminished. Any thoughts on this? Has anyone run any chronograph tests to test this school of thought? Care to share findings?
