The text here has been copied from the poorly written Wiki page for 'Limberjacks.' Interestingly the term 'limberjack' only dates back to about the 1960s - try searching Google Books for earlier references. Previous to that - and even still today - the old timers in the Appalachians refer to them as 'dancing man' or 'jigging man,' etc. They have a long history in the UK and Canada too. In the UK they are 'dancing dolls' and in Canada they are 'les gigueux' or 'bon hommes.' And Seth Davy is NOT an Irish song, it was written by Glyn Hughes in Liverpool about 1959. It refers to a real person - a black busker - one Seth Davy. There is even a photo (lantern slide) of him from 1902 (in Liverpool Museum but not on the web).
