Just discovered something I hadn't heard before. After all the "trouble" in 1961, it looks like the State of Missouri wasn't through with the McDonald Territorians yet. In a 1962 newspaper article that I reference on my site (Kansas paper) it reported that once again, the Missouri Highway Department had left McDonald County off the map! Can you believe it? The article said that Dan Harmon, who had previously served as the Vice President of the 1961 "McDonald Territory" was then elected President of the 1962 group. As of this point, I am still researching what the final outcome was for the 1962 event; obviously they did not secede, but I am sure they really wanted to!
