I have done some research on Capt. Jacobs and everything indicates that he was actually a Susquehannock, not a Lenape. There is a drawing of him with a Susquehannock style of haircut. When his scalp was identified by freed whites at Kitanning they were sure it was his because he cut his hair differently than the other Lenni-Lenapes'.

It is also interesting that he spoke fluent English and carried himself like an English gentleman. On one recorded occasion when he took someone prisoner he actually got off his horse and shook the mans hand. Not the usual way a Native American would deal with the situation.

There is not a whole lot of information about Captain Jacobs. However it doesn't surprise me that he behaved as an Englishman. At that time many Native Americans became assimilated into English culture, even making the journey to England and back.
