Legal basis on tendering resignation

Hi i have tendered my resignation letter (stating the 30 days effectivity date as per labor law and company policy), but my boss doesnt accept my resignation because there will be an upcoming activity which he will need my assistance. But the said activity will take place "TENTATIVELY" 15 days after the effectivity of my resignation date ( more or less 45 days from now). The reason why i tendered my resignation is that i am accepted by another company which pays better(relatively high) and requiring me to start after 30 days.

1. What is my stand in this situation?
2. Can i leave my present employer and join another
company after the 30 days notice? does it sound legally?

** NOTE: I dont have any bad records or watsoever in my
present employer. just so happened my greedy boss
doesnt allow me to leave just of the 1 day event
(company family day) he is insisting that i should
stay/help him.

i will appreciate if u can help me on this

thanks in advance
