Kinematic Tolerance Analysis

I am designing a mechanism made up many linkages. Is there a way to know , the maximum specified tolerance before a mechanism jams up? In other words, I like to intentionally make one link slightly longer, to mimic manufacturing errors. I would then like to run CosmosMotion (or any kind of simulating package or software) to see if the mechanism jams up? Is there a formal process for doing this?
